Conservation Project Grant Program
The Columbia County Conservation District board of directors has developed a Conservation Project Grant Program to assist landowners to initiate and complete conservation projects on their land. Projects for this grant must carry out land and water resource enhancement, restoration, or protection. These projects may be new ore supplemental to currently existing projects. Individuals or private organizations may apply for this grant.
Possible Projects include:
To apply, landowners must complete an application. The board of directors will review applications as received at the next regularly scheduled board meeting.

Possible Projects include:
- Developing streams or pond buffers
- Establishing vegetation
- Improving native vegetation
- Improving rural fires departments
- Improving timber stand
- Providing seed for erosion control or wildlife benefits
- Providing pine and/or hardwood seedlings to landowners
- Projects benefiting the Sparta Sand Aquifer or Beech Creek Drainage area
- Education, equipment, road improvements, or other conservation practices that will benefit the water or land of Columbia County
